Historical footage of King Farouk leaving Egypt in 1952 with narration announcing the military coup's demands which he agreed to peacefully. مشاهد تاريخية رحيل الملك فاروق سياسة The narration literary translates to: "The leadership of the Revolution to His Presence* and Refined Stature** Ali Maher Pasha the President of the Council of Ministers (i.e. Prime Minister)- A decree addressed to His Majestic Presence King Farouk the First holds two requests on the tongues of the People. The first, that His Majesty abdicates the Throne to His Highness His Crown Prince before midday today. The second, that His Majesty departs from the homeland before 6pm of today's evening. And His Majesty has kindly*** agreed to both requests." *The term 'Hadret' translates to 'Presence' or 'Audience' and is used in Arabic to address people politely. ** The term 'Maqama' translates to 'Stature' and was preceeded by 'Saheb', meaning 'Owner or Companion of'. The term 'Saheb' or 'Sahebet' is also used before 'Majesty' or 'Highness' rather than the English style 'His or Her', but the translation is apt since 'Saheb' indicates possession as does 'His or Her'. *** Ther term 'Tafadel' does not directly translate to 'Kindly' but indicates it.
