AKON Launches MTV Arabia in the Middle East MTV Arabia, the region's first Arabic free-to-air youth entertainment and lifestyle channel, launched on November 17 to a potential audience of 190 million people across the Middle East. The network hosted an exclusive, star-studded event in Dubai on November 15, with performances by Akon, Ludacris, Karl Wolf, and local hip hop group Desert Heat. MTV Arabia, available via satellites Nilesat and Arabsat, will air a mix of international and Arab music, and lifestyle shows, including the flagship show, Hip HopNa, which highlights emerging Arabic hip hop talent for the first time, tapping into the massive popularity of international hip hop culture across the Middle East. ستارت اب دب
