Chapter 8 "SARAH," cried Martha. "This can NOT be happening, TELL ME this isn't happening!" She sobs. "Um...this isn't happening?" Nick says questionably. Martha keeps on sobbing. "We NEED to call an ambulance...or something!" "How is that going to help," Nick told her. "She's already dead." "Yeah, but we don't know where the killer is." When she said that, chills went up both of their spines. They moved closer together. "Do you have a cell phone or something?" Martha asked him. "I forgot mine in Jackie's car, so I'm probably not going to find it now." "Shit, mine's at my house." "We can just use the landline I guess." Martha picks up the phone, about to dial, then slowly sets it down. "It's dead." Jackie spun around and was face-to-face with the killer. He was a big 6 foot 8 husky person wearing all black clothes and a ski mask so no one could reconise him. The killer meant to stab the knife into her back, but because she turned around so quickly, he stabbed her right in the heart. She immediately went down. "Jackie!" cried Kevin. The killer then approached him. He attempted to stab Kevin, but Kevin dodged it and punched him in the stomach. The killer doubled over and held his stomach. Kevin ran over to Jackie. "Jackie, JACKIE, speak to me!" he said, close to tears. "Kevin...Kevin...I..." he kissed her, and she kissed back, until she died right there on the spot, before she could finish her sentence. Kevin knew he couldn't help her anymore, and in tears, broke open the door and ran for his life down the stairs to warn the others of the ultimate danger they were in at that very moment. "Joe, I don't think we're really going anywhere, we've been walking for, like, EVER!" "It's only been a few minutes, and this could have been an underground place where they hid runaway slaves during the civil war or something...it could stretch for MILES!" "Thanks for the words of encouragement," Ashley replied sarcastically. "Wait, what's that?" she whips her head around, causing her hair to whip into Joe's face. He spits it out of his mouth. "EW, YUCK!" "What was that for?" Ashley turns back around. "It's nothing, I guess, I thought I just heard something, but I guess not then." "What'd you hear?" "It sounded like...footsteps." Kevin is running down the stairs and trips and falls down the last 3 stairs. "Shit!" he wipes himself off and gets up. He sees Nick and Martha. "Oh thank GOD you guys are OK!" "Why wouldn't we be?" Martha asked him. Nick sees Kevin's been crying. "What's wrong dude?" Kevin gulps, and holds back more tears. "Jackie...she's...she's dead." "She was just stabbed." "We...we found Sarah dead...in...in the closet," Martha shudders. She hugs Nick for comfort, and Nick gratefully hugs her back. "We need to get out of here...like...NOW!" Kevin tells them. He tries to pull Nick and Martha towards the door. They wouldn't budge. "No, we have to save the others." "Yeah," Martha puts in." "We can't just leave them here to DIE!" she shudders again. "Fine, let's just get them, and get out." "NO ONE else's gonna die." They set off to find the others, not knowing how unfortunately untrue that last statement was.
