Chandrasena prays to the Naga kul-deva that her efforts to free Rama & Lakshman are successful. Sita is anxious about the threat to Rama & Lakshman once the sun sets, but Surya-deva appears before her and assures her that the protection of his clan - the Raghus - is a duty of his. Ravan narrates to Mandodari and Indrajit the story of how Ahi & Mahi are virtually immortal because a group of bees always bring them amrit and revive them whenever they are killed
