AMNESTY - AMNISTIA - Vincenzo was called by a group of pardoned men standing at a buffet in the station: "Vincenzo, don't you recognise me?" It was Romolo, a childhood friend, he had lost sight of. It was Christmas Eve and Vincenzo took him home and said: "Come, we are a modest family, but a true friend must be treated well if he needs it". They ate and Romolo slept like a log on a small camping bed. On Christmas day, they toasted to each other's health. Romolo said to Vincenzo: "I, a wine drinker and a bad mouth, thank you for your friendly hospitality". But, the day after Romolo got away with Vincenzo's salary and the poor family was left penniless. Sometime ago, I saw Vincenzo holding in his hand a little bag of fruit and asked him: "Where are you going so cheerful?" "To see Romolo in prison". "After what he has done to you, you are even going to see him!?" "He asked me for some fruit. Life is so dark, I want to give him a hand". Comment: We often do a good deed and expect a "reaction" from the receiver or even by a divinity. But an evolved person doesn't love to be paid back in kind: he loves and that's enough, because loving is naturally his own reward. Accepting this law would put for ever a stop to any arguments about "gratitude". www.evolvenza.it
