"Not Intended" As we walked up Kyle's driveway I could feel Vince's hand shaking in mine "It's going to be ok" I told him patting his hand with my free one "Meghan, I'm not the one shaking" I held up my hand to find out he was right. Why was I shaking? I wasn't nervous. In fact I was very confident in what I was doing. I had a feeling I would win "Oh" I told him with a laugh "You do want to do this, right?" "Your acting like I'm about to lose my virginity" "That's an odd way of putting it" "It's the first thing that came to me" "I'd rather you lose that then an arm or a leg" "Honestly? I'm willing to save my virginity until my honey moon with the person I love and am going to spend the rest of my life with, that way if I become pregnant I know I'll have someone to take care of the baby with me" "I never thought about that" "I have, but everyone has different thoughts of it. thats what i wanna do. Like...I doubt I'll marry you. If I did have sex with you and we break up I'm going to have to live my life knowing that, and to me it's not worth it. No matter how bad the temptation I'm going to hold back cuz I know it's the right thing to do" "Yeah, and no matter how bad the temptation to hurt Kyle, you shouldn't do it cuz it's the right thing to do" I ignored him "So!" I quickly changed the subject. "Let's do this" Before Vince could respond I walked forward and rang the doorbell. Kyle answered the door I put my hand on his shoulder and shoved him back a little "What the fuck do you want from me?" he said with fury in his eyes "You hurt nick" my voice sounded scared "boohoo, he'll get over it" "You don't care that you physically hurt him?" Of course he didn't. That was a stupid question "No, I don't" he said plainly "in fact, I'm kind of glad I did" My pulse sped up "Why would you say that?" "Your brothers are so protective, that's why I broke up with you" What does that mean? He didn't like me cuz my brothers cared for me too much? "At least I have people that care for me" "Don't you get it? They're controlling your life?" I ignored his comment "So you broke up with me...cuz of my, brothers?" "Yeah, and then I asked out Shannon cuz she'd be willing to do anything with me." "That's why you broke up with me? cuz I wouldn't DO it with you?" "Yeah. And your brothers would stop you even if you wanted to" "Hold it there, If I wanted to I would have done it without even considering what they would say, that's not their choice, it's mine, they had nothing to do with why I said no to you before." Kyle was getting frustrated "Why don't you just leave?" "cuz I'm standing up for nick" "You actually think you can hurt me?" "Kyle, I'm tired of you being...you. Why don't you act a little more mature?" "Oh, I was, remember? I was going to leave you alone, you came to me...again" I obviously wasn't winning this "I can bet you right now, that I could beat you in a fight" I regretted that the second after It came out of my mouth. Kyle pulled his lips back over his teeth to make a smile "I would love to" he stepped out and my heart started beating faster "You know punching a girl is illegal?" Vince said to Kyle hoping to make Kyle change his mind. It didn't work "does it look like i care?" he stepped closer to me We got into the middle of his front yard "Kyle..." I said, hoping to have him pause to let me catch my breath "What?" I breathed in "why are you really dating shannon?" ".... Well" all his anger left and all I could see was the Kyle I knew when we were dating, the Kyle I loved "Well what?" I asked keeping my voice calm "It was mostly because I was lonely and leaving you was a..." his voice trailed off "Kyle, you can tell me" why didn't I think of this before? Why not just talk it out instead of fighting? "Never mind" he said. I knew he wanted to tell me "Kyle, please," "No, I don't know what I was thinking." He shook his head as to shake the thoughts away "so now where were we?" he started to walk closer about to punch me but I got him first. I punched him in the nose and he started stumbling backwards in defeat, that was easier than I though I watched Kyle keep stumbling back. Had I really hurt him that bad? Right at that moment, it happened, all in slow motion. Kyle, his hands on his face, his heal hit the edge of his driveway. What had I just done to my best friend? I saw his body hit the concrete. I closed my eyes hoping not to see anything to bad. Most I could do was make him bleed or break a bone. Boy, was I wrong. I heard his body hit the ground, but nothing compared to what followed, I heard the loud crack of his head hitting the cement. I couldn't see anything, but I could smell it. I could smell the hot blood of Kyle. I opened my eyes to find Kyle's lifeless body lying on the driveway Find out what happens in Ch. 31... =] 20 comments
